Margaret James had always enjoyed visiting Gulliver's Kingdom with her son. So, when she needed to find a job, that was the first place she thought to apply. That was in 2007 and, 15 years later, Margaret has never looked back.
Margaret is a ride operator and trainer for new starters and typically works five days a week from March to October. She operates a different ride each day, from the roller coaster to the pirate ship, and enjoys seeing families having a great time. Margaret, who is from Pinxton, a village on the border of Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, says she would advise older people looking for work to consider a job with Gulliver's. "I'd tell them to go for it, they'll never look back".
Josh from Duffield in Derbyshire started working at the theme park resort in Matlock Bath in March 2013 and is set to begin his 10th season at the park when it reopens on Saturday, March 26. In that time, he's done everything from serving hot dogs and operating rides to dressing up at Halloween to give guests a spooky surprise.
“The last ten years have flown by but I really enjoy the job and look forward to coming back for more each season. There really are opportunities for everyone so I’d encourage those interested in working in hospitality to find out more about what is on offer here.”
As resort director, which is a brand new role at Gulliver's World Warrington, Craig will oversee the whole business operation across the resort, supporting teams working in areas including ride engineering, hospitality and management.
“My focus will be on setting the highest standards of customer service to help every guest make magical memories. I’m excited to be part of this journey and to support the leadership team as we continue to grow the business. We already have a fantastic team in place at Gulliver’s World who are really customer focussed and I’m really looking forward to working with them.”
